Steph Chapek

Eden Prairie Boys Volleyball Head Coach

Steph Chapek is the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for Eden Prairie High School boys volleyball and also serves in Eden Prairie’s volleyball program leadership. She brings a long playing and coaching background, including collegiate, professional, beach, club, and high school experience.

Steph has built a distinguished volleyball career as both a player and a coach. A former varsity athlete at Hopkins High School, she went on to become a four-year starter for the University of Minnesota volleyball team, where she earned All-Conference honors three times and was named an All-American. After college, she played professionally indoors in Portugal, competed on the AVP beach volleyball tour, and won NORCECA events in Puerto Rico and El Salvador.

In coaching, Steph has held leadership roles across multiple levels of the sport. Her background includes serving as varsity head coach at Edina High School from 2010 to 2014, coaching and directing club programs from 2010 to 2020, assisting at Hopkins and Bloomington Kennedy High Schools, and leading Eden Prairie beach volleyball since 2018. She also coached Eden Prairie High School girls volleyball in 2024-2025 and has been recognized as a key leader in the EP volleyball program.

At Eden Prairie, Steph emphasizes effort, teamwork, competitiveness, and joy as core parts of the student-athlete experience. Under her leadership, the boys volleyball program has continued to grow, including a state championship as head coach in 2025.

Steph lives in Eden Prairie with her family and has two sons who play basketball and volleyball.
