Head Coach

Geoff Basham serves as the STMA Boys Tennis Head Varsity Coach and brings nearly three decades of coaching experience to the program. Now in his 29th season as a boys and girls varsity coach, Basham has built a career defined by consistency, leadership, and competitive success.

He began his varsity coaching career at White Bear Lake, leading the boys program from 2001 to 2008 and the girls program from 2006 to 2008. He later took over the Rogers girls varsity program in 2016, where he continues to coach, and has led the STMA boys varsity team since 2019. Over the course of his career, Basham has compiled an impressive 291–207 record and was honored as the 2025 Section 8AA Coach of the Year.

A former player at Osseo High School, Basham has remained active in competitive tennis as an adult. His accomplishments include winning the 2009 USTA Men’s 4.5 National Championship and capturing the first three Lifetime Men’s Open Doubles Championships from 2009 to 2011.

Beyond wins and accolades, Basham is deeply committed to developing young athletes. He plays an active role in community education programming, helping build strong youth participation and preparing players for future varsity success. His programs emphasize sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth both on and off the court.

Geoff and his wife Kelly have a son, Evan, who is 13 years old.
