Eden Prairie Boys Tennis Head Coach
Michael Mauthe serves as the Varsity Boys Tennis coach at Eden Prairie High School, where he has led the program for the past two years. With over 12 years of experience playing and working within tennis programs, facilities, and university settings, Mauthe brings a deep understanding of the sport and a passion for athlete development.
A former collegiate athlete, Mauthe competed for four years at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, an experience he describes as foundational both athletically and personally. His time in college tennis helped shape his commitment to teamwork, discipline, and lifelong relationships.
Under his leadership, the Eden Prairie Boys Tennis team achieved a 5th place finish at the 2025 Team State Tournament, reflecting the program’s continued growth and competitive success.
Mauthe’s coaching philosophy centers on developing well-rounded student-athletes by fostering integrity, resilience, and excellence both on and off the court. He emphasizes a culture of strong work ethic, sportsmanship, and teamwork, while creating a positive and inclusive environment where all athletes feel supported and valued. Through intentional leadership, he aims to instill life skills that prepare students for challenges beyond tennis, encouraging confidence, character, and continuous improvement.
