Scott Hackett
Eden Prairie Baseball Head Coach
Scott Hackett is in his third year as the head coach of Eden Prairie High School’s varsity baseball program. With over two decades of coaching experience, Hackett has been a cornerstone of the Eden Prairie baseball community since 2005. Before taking the helm of the varsity team, he spent 17 years as an assistant coach, working at every level from ninth grade to junior varsity.
From 2008 to 2018, Hackett also served as the head coach for Eden Prairie’s American Legion team, guiding them to remarkable success, including three state championships and a national title in 2011. During his tenure as an assistant coach, he contributed to Eden Prairie’s Minnesota State High School League titles in 2010 and 2017.
Hackett’s coaching philosophy centers on developing better young men through the game of baseball. He believes the sport’s challenges teach vital life skills—accountability, discipline, resilience, and respect. His teams are known for their aggressive, confident style of play, competing with energy and purpose while maintaining a sharp focus on fundamentals and detail. For Hackett, every player’s growth as a teammate and person is as important as their performance on the field, preparing them for success beyond the game.
Scott lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, Heather. They have two children: Ryan, age 21, and Grace, age 18.
