Noah Vander Kooi
Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach
Noah Vander Kooi brings extensive playing and coaching experience to the Buffalo Boys Lacrosse program. A 2016 graduate of Buffalo High School, Noah was an all-conference and all-section attackman during his prep career. He played collegiate lacrosse at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul from 2017 to 2021, competing as a midfielder. During his time at UNW, he earned three all-conference honors and graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Noah’s favorite lacrosse memory comes from the 2021 season at Northwestern – the culmination of four years working toward a shared goal. Having been part of the inaugural roster of just 14 players, he helped lead the team to its first conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance, achieving what had seemed almost impossible in their first season.
After his playing career, Noah spent two years (2022–2023) as an assistant coach for Northwestern St. Paul Men’s Lacrosse (NCAA Division III) and served as an assistant coach for White Bear Lake Varsity in 2019. He also coached with the Minnesota Loons Club from 2018 to 2023.
Now entering his third year with Buffalo Boys Lacrosse, Noah continues to emphasize effort, composure, and control, instilling the mindset that his players should “out hustle everyone and control what we can control.”
