Varsity Girls Golf Head Coach

Tim Murray has been a dedicated member of the Buffalo High School golf program for over six years, currently serving as the Varsity Golf coach. Prior to stepping into the head role, he spent five years as a JV coach and his first two seasons as an assistant, during which the team advanced to the state tournament both years—an early highlight that helped shape his coaching approach.

Murray brings a deep-rooted passion for the game, coming from a family of golfers that spans generations. Alongside his grandfather and father, he shares the rare distinction of recording a hole-in-one—his own memorable shot coming on October 16, 2020, at Wild Marsh. On a brisk 40-degree day, and with a foam noodle still in the cup due to COVID-era precautions, Murray’s ace on hole #16 stands as a testament to both skill and perseverance.

As a coach, Murray is committed to creating an inclusive and developmental environment where golfers of all skill levels can grow. He emphasizes not only technical improvement but also personal development, using the game of golf as a vehicle to teach life lessons, resilience, and sportsmanship. His philosophy centers on helping student-athletes navigate both the course and life with confidence and integrity.
