Lynn Sosnowski

Girls Varsity Track & Field Head Coach

Lynn Sosnowski has dedicated her entire 30-year coaching career to Edina, where she serves as the Head Varsity Coach for Girls Track & Field and the JV Coach for Girls Cross Country. A lifelong athlete, Sosnowski competed in multiple sports during high school, including tennis, cross country, basketball, softball, soccer, and track. She went on to compete at the collegiate level as a Division II scholarship athlete in both track & field and cross country.

Sosnowski’s passion for endurance sports extends well beyond coaching. She has completed more than 20 marathons, four Ironman triathlons, a 50K ultra marathon, and a 50-mile ultra marathon. She also competed at the professional level in women’s tackle football, demonstrating her wide-ranging athletic ability and commitment to competition.

Throughout her coaching career, Sosnowski has been recognized multiple times with nominations for Section Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year in both cross country and track. One of her proudest achievements came in 2018 when her team set a Minnesota State record in the 4x800 relay.

Sosnowski believes that coaching is about encouraging and inspiring athletes to become the best version of themselves, both in and out of season. She emphasizes the importance of making running enjoyable while also developing the mental strength needed for success. She is committed to helping each athlete reach their individual goals and fostering a positive, supportive team environment.
