ZOE CHAN

Varsity Badminton Head Coach

Yeemun Zoe Chan serves as the Head Coach of the Edina High School badminton program, bringing over a decade of experience in the sport as both a competitor and coach. Prior to joining Edina, Chan was involved with the Southwest High School badminton program, where she contributed as a technical coach for several years before stepping into the Head Coach role during the 2021–2022 season.

Chan has an extensive competitive background, having participated in numerous tournaments across the Midwest and beyond, including events as far as Seattle. Throughout her playing career, she set ambitious goals of earning gold medals in the A bracket across all three disciplines—Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles—demonstrating her dedication and drive within the sport. While she has since shifted her primary focus to coaching, her competitive experience continues to inform her approach to athlete development.

As a coach, Chan is deeply committed to using badminton as a platform for personal growth. She emphasizes the development of confidence, leadership, and character in her athletes, striving to help each player succeed both on and off the court. Her coaching philosophy centers on building discipline and life skills that extend far beyond the season, preparing her players for success in all areas of life.
