Eric Swensen

Varsity Wrestling Head Coach

Eric Swensen is a highly experienced wrestling coach with 28 years of coaching at the varsity level, currently serving at Wayzata High School in Minnesota. Over the course of his career, he has coached in diverse regions including South Houston, Texas; Dakota Valley, South Dakota; Springstead, Florida; and Washington Tech in Minnesota, bringing a wide range of experience and perspective to his programs.

A former standout athlete, Swensen was a two-time Connecticut State Champion and went on to compete at the collegiate level, earning distinction as an NCAA Division II National Qualifier for Springfield College in Massachusetts. His success has carried into his coaching career, where he was honored as the Florida State Coach of the Year in 2012.

Swensen is driven by a clear and powerful mission: to inspire others to achieve great things while supporting and elevating those around him. His leadership philosophy emphasizes growth, encouragement, and building a culture of excellence both on and off the mat.
