Mike Dzubay

Wayzata Alpine Ski Head Coach

Mike Dzubay has spent decades coaching and participating in athletics, with a particular connection to alpine skiing and soccer. He currently serves as the head coach for Wayzata Alpine Skiing and is also involved with ninth-grade girls’ soccer.

His own sports background began in high school. Mike started playing soccer as a ninth grader, while his ski-racing career began later, during his senior year at Waukesha High School. He continued his athletic involvement at the collegiate level, building on the experiences that would later shape his long coaching career.

Mike has coached high school athletics since the fall of 1982. Over the years, he has worked with many teams and athletes—far too many experiences and accomplishments to list in full—and has remained committed to helping young people develop skills, confidence, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for sport.

Away from the field and ski hill, Mike is married and the father of one son. He is also known for his distinctive coaching style and memorable appearance: yellow pants and a bucket cap.
