Alyse Iorio

Varsity Dance Head Coach

Alyse Eichorst is the Varsity Head Coach of the Wayzata High School Dance Team, where she has dedicated the entirety of her 17-year coaching career. After beginning as an assistant varsity coach from 2009 to 2015 and serving as co-head coach from 2015 to 2018, Alyse stepped into the head coach role in 2018. Her leadership has helped establish Wayzata as one of the premier dance programs in Minnesota, highlighted by multiple state championships in Jazz (2010, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2024) and Kick (2019), along with numerous state runner-up finishes. Her excellence in coaching has been recognized with several honors, including Assistant Coach of the Year (2012), Head Coach of the Year (2019), and Section 2AAA Coach of the Year in Kick (2026).

Alyse’s roots in dance run deep. She was a standout athlete on the Wayzata Dance Team from 2000 to 2004, earning All-Conference, All-State, and MVP honors her senior year, when she also served as team captain. During her high school career, the team medaled in both Jazz and Kick in 2001 and 2002. She continued her dance career at the University of Wisconsin–Madison from 2006 to 2008, where she was again named captain her senior year, demonstrating her consistent leadership both on and off the floor.

At the core of Alyse’s coaching philosophy is a commitment to developing strong, confident student-athletes. She emphasizes character, leadership, and personal responsibility, striving to help each dancer reach both team and individual goals while fostering a competitive yet positive environment. Guided by her personal purpose—to coach with integrity and inspire young women to become the strongest versions of themselves—Alyse ensures the program remains both highly competitive and deeply rewarding for all participants.

Outside of coaching, Alyse is a photographer specializing in newborn and family photography and co-owns a production company with her husband. Together, they are raising their son Nolan, who loves cheering on the team alongside his mom.
