Josh Joriman
St. Michael-Albertville Wrestling Head Coach
Josh Joriman serves as the head wrestling coach at STMA, leading one of Minnesota’s premier programs with a commitment to excellence both on and off the mat. With 13 years of coaching experience—including the past 8 as head coach—Joriman has built a culture rooted in hard work, accountability, and team-first values across all levels of the program.
A graduate of St. Cloud State University, Joriman began his coaching journey as a student coach from 2011 to 2013. He started working with STMA youth wrestlers in 2012 and joined the high school staff in 2013. After a brief stint coaching at Willmar from 2014 to 2015, he returned to STMA, where he has since served as a volunteer assistant, head assistant, and now head coach.
Under his leadership, STMA has achieved remarkable success, including State Championships in 2022, 2024, 2025, and 2026, along with state runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2023. Joriman has been recognized as Section Coach of the Year in both 2022 and 2025. Beyond wrestling, he has contributed to athlete development by coaching middle school football since 2018 and leading strength and speed training programs since 2015.
As a competitor, Joriman was a three-time state entrant and state placewinner at Centennial High School before continuing his wrestling career at St. Cloud State. He credits many of his favorite wrestling memories to the camaraderie built during bus rides, post-weigh-ins, and time spent with teammates, friends, and family.
Joriman’s coaching philosophy centers on a “Blue Collar Mentality”—a no-frills, servant-leader approach emphasizing humility, gratitude, grit, accountability, and an above-and-beyond work ethic.
Outside of coaching, he values family above all. He and his wife, Rachelle, have been married for nine years and are proud parents to their daughter Joey (5) and son Jonah (2).
