Tracy Cassano

Girls Varsity Hockey Head Coach

Tracy Cassano has 23 years of coaching experience, including 20 years as a head coach in Minnesota girls’ hockey. She has led programs at Rosemount, Chaska/Chanhassen, Burnsville, and Minnetonka, and is recognized as the only coach to take three different programs to the AA State Tournament: Rosemount, Burnsville, and Minnetonka.

Before coaching, Cassano played Division I hockey at the University of Minnesota from 1998 to 2002, where she was a two-time team captain and a national champion in 2000. Her collegiate resume also includes WCHA All-Star Team honors, WCHA All-Tournament Team recognition, WCHA Athlete of the Week, Scholar Athlete honors, Big Ten All-Academic Team recognition, and a full scholarship.

As a coach, Cassano has appeared in seven AA State Tournaments, has been named Section Coach of the Year three times, has received the Section Excellence in Coaching Award three times, and was named the Minnesota AA State Coach of the Year in 2014. She has coached more than 500 varsity high school games and has earned over 300 career varsity wins.

Away from hockey, Cassano is married to Mike and has three children: Ryan, Hailey, and Anthony. Her coaching message emphasizes pride, teamwork, hard work, and enjoying the game as a hockey family.
