Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach

Dre Jefferson is the Varsity Head Coach of Minnetonka Girls Basketball and has 14 years of coaching experience across Minnesota high school basketball. He has led programs at Edina High School, Hopkins High School, and St. Louis Park, and played at Park Center High School and the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Jefferson’s coaching background includes serving as Edina’s head coach from 2022 to 2025, an assistant coach at Hopkins from 2015 to 2020, and an assistant coach at St. Louis Park from 2013 to 2015. He was recognized as AAU Coach of the Year by Prep Girls Hoops in 2024 and is associated with the Minnesota Suns program.

He has coached players to success at both the team and individual level, including a 2019 state championship and a Gatorade national championship. His coaching philosophy centers on developing players into successful people on and off the court while pursuing excellence and a state title.

Dre lives with his wife, Laurel, and their three children: Jilaeya, Stephon, and Raelle.
