Alyssa Brix

Eden Prairie Dance Head Coach

Alyssa Brix is the Head Coach of the Eden Prairie High School Dance Team, where she leads both varsity and junior varsity athletes in grades 7–12. With over six years of combined coaching experience at the high school and studio levels, Alyssa brings a well-rounded and dynamic approach to developing dancers. She previously served as Assistant Varsity Coach for the Eden Prairie Dance Team during the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 seasons before stepping into the Head Coach role for the 2025–2026 season. Prior to her high school coaching career, she spent several years coaching in studio settings, working with dancers across a variety of styles.

Alyssa’s dance background is rooted in both competitive success and team achievement. As a high school athlete, she was a two-time state champion in high kick and contributed to a jazz team that made program history with its state placement. She continued her dance career at the University of St. Thomas, where she was a member of the dance team that earned two double national championships in both hip hop and jazz.

As a coach, Alyssa is passionate about developing the whole athlete—focusing not only on technical growth but also on character, confidence, and resilience. She emphasizes clear communication, accountability, and a culture built on trust and mutual respect. Alyssa encourages her athletes to bring creativity and energy to the team, fostering an environment where they feel supported, challenged, and heard. She believes in celebrating progress and effort just as much as outcomes, promoting confidence without comparison and resilience through every challenge.
