Boys Soccer Varsity Head Coach

Duenas has 34 years of coaching experience in high school and club soccer, including 18 years as head coach at Wayzata, with additional head coaching at Blaine and Mounds View, and nine years as an assistant at Wayzata. His teams won state championships in 2017, 2022, and 2023, all ranking in the top 10 nationally, and reached three other state finals. He coached in the 2023 High School All-American Game and has earned multiple awards, including United Soccer Coaches Minnesota Large School Coach of the Year (2022, 2023) and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year (2022). His philosophy focuses on building long-lasting relationships, creating great memories, learning life skills for the game of life, and a “We before Me” mindset.
