ADAM SPURREL

Varsity Football Head Coach

Spurrel is in his 23rd year of coaching and his second year as Head Coach at Maple Grove Senior High, where he has spent 21 years. He also coached for two years at Wayzata High School. A former high school football player from Amery, Wisconsin, he was named North District Coach of the Year and 6A State Coach of the Year in 2024. He earned the Butch Nash Assistant Coach Award in 2023 and led his team to the 6A State Championship as Head Coach in 2024, after serving as Defensive Coordinator for the 2022 championship team. His coaching philosophy focuses on developing champions on and off the field by building young men of character, discipline, and accountability through football. In addition to coaching, he teaches math at Maple Grove Senior High. He and his wife Jessica, a 4th-grade teacher, have two daughters, Anna and Brooke, who both attend St. Cloud State University.
