Eden Prairie Girls Swim & Dive

EVA POTVIN

Girls' Swim & Dive Varsity Head Coach

Potvin is entering her 10th year coaching swimming and first year as a high school head coach, after two seasons as an assistant with the Eden Prairie Boys team. She swam varsity at Hill-Murray High School from 7th–12th grade, serving as captain, and competed for four years at SUNY Oswego, where she was also captain her senior year. She has coached swimmers across club, high school, and college levels throughout her career.

Potvin believes that true success comes in many forms, whether it’s achieving a personal best, building confidence, growing in emotional resilience, developing stronger communication, or simply showing up and giving your best. Her coaching philosophy focuses on supporting the whole athlete—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and helping each swimmer define and work toward their own version of success.

She strives to create a supportive, inclusive environment where all athletes feel valued, respected, and empowered to grow. Her approach is grounded in teaching strong technique and goal-setting while also fostering self-awareness, teamwork, and a positive mindset. She tailors her coaching to the individual, recognizing that each swimmer brings unique strengths, challenges, and life experiences to the pool. Ultimately, her goal is to help each athlete develop lifelong skills in and out of the pool, and grow not only as athletes but as well-rounded individuals, while building a strong, connected team community.
