Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach

Bryan Schnettler is the longtime head coach of the Wayzata High School boys varsity basketball program, where he has built one of Minnesota’s most successful and respected teams. With 19 years of coaching experience, including previous stops at Edina High School (1 year) and Rosemount High School (6 years), Schnettler has established a legacy defined by consistency, excellence, and player development.

A former player at the University of St. Thomas and a member of its Hall of Fame, Schnettler brings a deep understanding of the game and a passion for teaching to his program. Under his leadership, Wayzata has captured three state championships, made eight state tournament appearances, and secured six Lake Conference titles. His commitment to developing student-athletes extends beyond high school success, with 29 Wayzata alumni advancing to play college basketball over the past 12 years.

Schnettler’s coaching philosophy centers on using basketball as a vehicle to teach lifelong lessons, build meaningful relationships, and create lasting memories. He emphasizes the development of a strong work ethic, preparing his players to perform at their best when it matters most in March. Through his leadership, Wayzata basketball has become synonymous with discipline, teamwork, and sustained excellence.
