Head Coach

Mitch Harmoning serves as the Head Coach of the STMA Girls Golf program, bringing 23 years of coaching experience to his role. A dedicated educator and mentor, Harmoning has played a pivotal role in developing the program from its early stages into a competitive and respected team.

Before joining STMA, Harmoning coached at Greenbush-Middle River School, where he contributed as an Assistant Boys Basketball coach and served as Head Coach for both Cross Country and Track and Field. His broad coaching background reflects a deep commitment to student-athlete development across multiple sports.

A former multi-sport athlete himself, Harmoning competed in basketball, track and field, and cross country during high school. He credits those experiences—especially the camaraderie, competition, and shared memories—with shaping his passion for coaching.

One of his proudest accomplishments is being named Section Coach of the Year in 2021, as well as guiding the growth and success of the STMA Girls Golf program. His coaching philosophy centers on developing well-rounded young women who not only enjoy the game of golf but also strive to compete at the highest level with honesty, integrity, and respect for others.
