Varsity Girls Cross Country Head Coach

Heather Strait serves as the Head Coach for the STMA Girls High School Cross Country team and the Assistant Coach for Track and Field. With over 12 years of coaching experience, Heather has guided her teams to impressive achievements, including the Girls Cross Country State Championship in 2018.

Her dedication and leadership have earned her multiple coaching honors, such as Section Coach of the Year (2017, 2018, 2019, 2024), MSHSCA Coach of the Year (2017), and USTFCCCA Coach of the Year (2018). These accolades reflect her commitment to excellence and her ability to inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.

Heather’s coaching philosophy centers on building strong, resilient student-athletes who value hard work, perseverance, and personal growth. She strives to cultivate a team culture where every runner feels a genuine sense of belonging and support, both in moments of challenge and success. By fostering confidence and a love for running, Heather helps her athletes develop qualities that extend well beyond the sport—preparing them for lifelong success.
