Sean Kern

Nordic Ski Varsity Head Coach

Sean Kern is the head coach of the Minnetonka High School Boys and Girls Nordic Skiing program, where he has led athletes across all levels—Varsity, JV1, and JV2—for the past nine years. During his tenure, the program has achieved consistent success at the state level, with the boys team qualifying for the State Meet in 2023 and 2026, and the girls team qualifying in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, the girls team earned an impressive second-place finish at the State Meet.

Coach Kern is guided by the philosophy, “Work Hard, Ski Fast, Have Fun,” emphasizing that dedication and effort not only lead to performance gains but also make the journey of personal growth rewarding and enjoyable. His approach focuses on building strong, resilient athletes who value both competition and camaraderie.
