Emily Heckman

Varsity Synchronized Swim Head Coach

Emily Heckmann is the Varsity Synchronized Swimming Head Coach at Edina High School. She brings 24 years of coaching experience to the program, including seven seasons as an assistant coach at St. Louis Park Synchro from 2002 to 2007 and 16 years as an assistant coach at Edina Synchro from 2008 to 2023.

Emily’s coaching highlights include winning Extended Trios at State during her senior year, helping end a few years without a win in that event. She says that routine was especially meaningful because it was also a fun performance.

She has been recognized as Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2022. Her coaching philosophy is to take every team member, regardless of skill level on day one, and help each swimmer improve over the course of the season.
