Boys Varsity Golf Head Coach

Tim Vernon brings decades of experience and a lifelong passion for golf to his role with the boys varsity golf program. A PGA professional for 37 years, Tim has built a career centered not only on the game itself, but on the relationships and connections formed along the way—something he considers the highlight of his professional journey.

Tim previously contributed to high school athletics through his involvement with the Benilde-St. Margaret’s varsity girls golf program from 2021 to 2023. While relatively new to coaching boys varsity golf, now in his first year, he brings a wealth of expertise, leadership, and perspective to the team.

In recognition of his impact on the game, Tim was named the 2026 Minnesota PGA Golf Executive of the Year. His coaching philosophy is rooted in preparation and empowerment, with a focus on giving players the tools they need to achieve their individual and team goals.

Outside of golf, Tim values family deeply. He has been married for 31 years and is the proud father of two children. His daughter, Laura, is 21 and plays golf at Bethel University, and his son, Michael, is a sophomore at Edina and a member of the boys golf team.
